The right time to take maternity photos?

Many new parents wonder when to schedule their maternity photos. I want you to feel your best when you have a session with me so, Ideally, you should book your session between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, your bump will look beautiful and round, but you can still move around comfortably. If you’re concerned about timing, I recommend booking earlier rather than later!

The best location and setting for your maternity session

There are a few diffrent options when considering the best location for your maternity session and both have thier positives!

  • Outdoor Sessions: If you love being surrounded by nature, this is the perfect choice! Depending on the time of year, you may capture a soft taupe brown, a wintery snow scene, or a vibrant green landscape. Are you planning to display these photos? If so, consider a beach or open field for a light and airy feel, or a forest or stream for a cozy, richly colored atmosphere in your images!
  • Indoor Sessions: Some of the most cozy and intimate sessions are in a couple’s own home! A beautiful way to look back on your growing family and home in years to come. it also is a perfect way to stay cool or warm depending on the outside weather and can be easier for other kids who are used to the setting of your home!

What should i wear?

The outfit you choose will help you feel more confident and comfortable, so it can be a tough decision! I always recommend wearing a long, flowy dress, especially for maternity sessions. These dresses provide movement in the photos and beautifully showcase your bump. Soft, neutral, and earthy tones can create a light and airy feel in your images, but if you prefer color, rich jewel tones can be just as stunning. Whatever you choose, make sure you feel great in it!
